Pearl Modiadie was born on January 1, 1987, in the Xubeni section of Tembisa township in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, South Africa. She attended Norkem Park High School in Kempton Park, where she completed her matriculation in 2005. In pursuit of her passion for media and journalism, Modiadie enrolled at Rosebank College in 2007, where she pursued a diploma in Media Studies and Journalism. In 2009, she successfully completed her diploma at Rosebank College.

Career

She attended Norkem Park High School in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, where she matriculated in 2005. Following her high school education, in 2007, Modiadie enrolled at Rosebank College to pursue a diploma in Media Studies and Journalism. She successfully completed her diploma at Rosebank College in 2009.

Modiadie’s career began to flourish when she became known for her work on the e.tv kids programming block, Craz-e. In 2007, she co-hosted the kids game show Crazed Out. She further established herself as a versatile media personality by serving as a DJ at YFM and as the content producer for the television series Sistahood, which she also hosted until April 2012.

In early 2013, Modiadie made her acting debut on the e.tv soapie Scandal! portraying the character Kefilwe Malope, a spirited young woman with a complex past involving drug abuse and hidden agendas.

Later, she transitioned into hosting, becoming the face of the SABC1 music lifestyle show Zaziwa. The show provides viewers with insights into their favorite celebrities’ lives through the music that has influenced them.

Modiadie’s hosting prowess extended to SABC 3’s breakfast show Expresso, where she serves as a regular field presenter. Additionally, she hosts a weekday show on Metro FM alongside Thomas Msengane from 12 pm to 3 pm.

In 2015, Modiadie showcased her dancing skills as one of the celebrity contestants on the eighth season of the reality competition series Strictly Come Dancing. She partnered with professional dancer Grant Esterhuizen, further showcasing her versatility and talent across different entertainment platforms.

Personal Life

In September 2020, Modiadie joyfully welcomed her son, Lewatle Olivier, into the world, marking a significant milestone in her personal life.

Family holds a special place in Modiadie’s life, and she shares a close bond with her two sisters, Dambuza Sina Sibuyi, aged 41, and Tebogo Penelope Modiadie, aged 25. Additionally, she cherishes her role as an aunt to her niece, Naledi Gugulethu Mkhonto, aged 17, and her two nephews, Nkateko Lesedi Mkhonto, aged 12, and Oratile Percy Modiadie, aged 5.

Modiadie’s journey into motherhood has undoubtedly added a new dimension to her life, further strengthening the bonds within her family circle and bringing immeasurable joy and fulfillment.
